Online membership sale: let customers buy memberships on your site

Put a membership plan on sale online; your customer picks the plan on your business website, signs in with their phone and pays by card. The membership starts at payment.

Last updated: 8 November 2026

With online membership sale your customer picks a plan in the Memberships section of the purchase page on your business website, signs in with their phone number and pays by card.

Prerequisites

  • Online payments must be on: pilot access, a connected Paynkolay account and the Online payments switch in Pi Store (see Online payments: sending a payment link for a receivable). While it is off these settings are hidden and everything works as before.

Putting a plan on sale online

Edit a plan or create a new one in Access and Memberships; in the Online sale section turn on Let customers buy this membership themselves on your site. Optionally choose “Can be purchased only once per person”. A plan priced 0 cannot be put on sale online.

Purchase rules

  • The membership starts at payment. If the customer has an active membership, the new period starts when it ends (linked as a renewal).

  • A customer with a frozen membership cannot buy; they are asked to contact you to renew.

  • There is no automatic renewal; each period is bought again.

  • If you use entry cards or QR codes, set them up following the reminder in the owner's “Online membership sale” notification. The business issues the invoice.

Refunds

  • Use Refund to card in the record's detail in Finance → Online Payments. The membership is cancelled when the refund is requested; if the refund is rejected the membership is restored.

  • If the membership has been used for entry even once, it cannot be refunded online.
