Session planning: a term-based lesson grid

A session plan lets you set up fixed-end, multi-time terms in one go — for example "a lesson every hour between 09:00 and 17:00 on weekdays until 30 September". Unlike a regular class, a single plan holds multiple day-time rows, and the schedule stops by itself when the term ends — there is no endless weekly generation.

On the Classes screen, open the Actions menu and choose Plan Sessions — a three-step wizard opens.

   General and Policies

   Plan name, date range (the end date is required), lesson duration, default instructor and capacity, allowed services, and exactly the same policies as classes: credit deduction timing, free cancellation window, auto complete, online enrolment and enrolment methods (package/subscription).

   Times

   Each row is one lesson time: you type the time freely (including half-hour times like 11:15) and pick the repeat days from the day chips. A row can have its own instructor and capacity; empty fields fall back to the plan defaults. Under the row you see, live, the lessons per week and the number of sessions the term will produce.

   Summary

   You check the row table and the total session count one last time and create the plan. When you confirm, every session of the term is created.

What happens once the plan is created?

• Each time row is managed as a separate lesson schedule in the background — attendance, credit deduction, freezing and cancellation rules are exactly the same as for regular classes.

• In the class list the plan is a SINGLE row: the list is a compact table; the plan row shows time chips, the session count, the term end, the next lesson and the occupancy. Its time slots do not fill the list.

• Clicking the card opens the plan detail page — summary numbers, the policy summary, the lesson-time table and the combined session list live there; clicking a time takes you to that time's class detail.

• Generation stops by itself when the term ends — no session is ever created after the end date.

Managing the plan from its detail page

From the Actions menu on the plan detail page:

• Enrol Student: the enrolment wizard opens with the plan preselected; the lessons of every time arrive in one list.

• Add Time: adds a new lesson-time row to the plan; all of its sessions from today until the plan end are created immediately.

• Edit: the plan name, description, colour and policies. Policy changes apply to every lesson time in the plan.

• Extend Plan: you pick a new end date; missing sessions are created automatically for every lesson time.

• Cancel Plan: every lesson time and its upcoming sessions are cancelled with a single confirmation; active enrolments are closed and unused credits refunded.

• To cancel a single lesson time use the bin icon in the lesson-time table; changing a time's day/hour is done via Edit on that time's class detail.

Enrolling into the lessons

Student enrolment follows the same model as classes: every selected lesson is its own record, and an eligible package or subscription is required as the source. When you pick the plan in the class step of the enrolment wizard, the lessons of every time slot arrive in one list in date order — you can enrol a student into the Monday 09:00 and Tuesday 11:15 lessons from the same screen, in one go.
